TechCrunch Disrupt SF Hackathon 2016 with Pepper

September 10, 2016 | San Francisco

TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco 2016 is around the corner and with it comes another U.S. and Bay Area appearance by Pepper, the humanoid robot! This year, SoftBank Robotics America is a sponsor of the annual TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon and Conference. Beginning in 2011, and now an elite San Francisco event, TechCrunch Disrupt brings together entrepreneurs, start-ups, hackers, tech enthusiasts for a week of Hi, Tech experiences in the high-tech mecca. Events include a 24-hour hackathon, a Startup Battlefield Competition, Startup Alley and Hardware Ally.

SoftBank Robotics America will be hosting its own competition within a competition at the hack featuring 10-15 Peppers, 5 engineers and endless opportunity to open up Pepper and get familiar with our SDKs. We invite you to come and hack our APIs for a chance to win up to $5,000 cash prizes.

Disrupt marks another opportunity for developers to get a firsthand look at the robot’s functionalities, sparking what is sure to be countless creative ideas for new capabilities. The intense time crunch during TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon means that these new processes have to be completed in triple quick fashion!

“We’ve only scratched the surface of Pepper’s potential and now we’re counting on the development community. We’re excited to partner with them to explore and evolve Pepper’s capabilities with innovative applications that help Pepper make people happy and enhance their lives,” Said Steve Carlin VP Marketing & Business Development.
